The 4 Letter Word You Can REPEAT!

By November 30, 2020Debbie Csutoros

This holiday season YadaFactor invites you to join us in reclaiming simple. This encouraging email and video series has been developed to help you refocus and find joy in simplicity.

Give

This one simple word is full of power.

Throughout the Old Testament and New Testament, the Scripture reveals God’s heart of generosity.

A few of many references:

  • A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.— Proverbs 11:25
  • [The righteous] are always generous and lend freely.— Psalm 37:26
  • Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice.— Psalm 112:5
  • Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.— 2 Corinthians 9:6

Giving is Biblical. As believers, we are to be generous with our time and treasure. The resources of the entire universe are at His creative disposal and our Heavenly Father will never run out of funds. He will always be able to meet His promise of giving back to us more than we give to Him.

Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.— Luke 6:38

A sister in Christ said…

“Right now I find myself obsessing over Christmas dresses for family photos, gifts for my daughters and extended family, additional serving ware I wish I had for the holidays, an overpriced ornament that would look beautiful on my tree, wrapping paper patterns, and–oh yes, my own personal wish list. It’s actually sort of exhausting to think about stuff so much, but yet I do it. (Tell me I’m not alone!)”

No friend, you are not alone! It’s so easy to get consumed by the materialism of the season. Been there, done that!

Here’s the good news…

God empowers us to live above the sins of covetousness and greed. I encourage you to take a moment this week and read 1 Timothy 6:6–12.

Journal about it! We’d love to know what God says to you.

Be of good cheer. There will always be a sale at Macy’s. 🙂

Did you know tomorrow, December 1st, is Giving Tuesday? It’s a day for people around the world to unite and celebrate generosity by giving to the causes they care about.

Whether you choose to give to YadaFactor or any other amazing ministry, we pray Luke 6:38 over you!
